Week 4 Reflection
Emma Stankovic
Reflection-
This week we talked about the importance of music in the classroom. We watched videos from “the sound of music” as examples of ways to get music into the classrooms. We then did an activity with our tables where we had to create the perfect classroom set up to involve music. In our classroom we had a projector for music videos, a music library, and carpet seating with instruments. We then had to come up with a way to add culture into our music classroom. My table came up with the idea to learn a new song once a month for a different culture. After we made the posters we did a gallery walk which was very helpful to be able to hear everyone else's feedback and ideas.
We also watched a video on how a teacher got students to use music and rocks from our last lesson all to create a story with meaning.

Questions-
How might these types of activities affect the learning and development of children?
These activities affect the learning and development of children in multiple ways. The activities help by getting the children more comfortable with speaking in class, helps them learn and remember their lessons, and gets them to learn more about culture.
In what ways did todays activities affect you?
These activities were very fun to me. They are also very useful for the future and teaching. I feel like music is a great way to help kids learn all subjects.
I really love the idea about learning a new song each month of a different culture. I think that will make your classroom very inclusive but also very engaging because music is being involved. I thought the activities we did were every fun also and I think it would be really fun to do with my students one day.
